Who We Are

More Than Another Organisation

Friends of Police Nigeria is envisioned as a lasting national civic institution—not merely another NGO. It brings together responsible citizens, professionals, businesses, young people, community leaders and development partners to strengthen police-community relations, support professional policing, recognise exemplary service and promote safer communities.

“Security is everybody’s responsibility.”

What We Stand For

An Independent, Non-Partisan Civic Institution

FOPN supports the police without replacing lawful oversight, democratic accountability or citizens’ rights. It promotes informed dialogue, lawful conduct, evidence-based reform and mutual respect.

  • Public education on police duties, structures, limitations and responsibilities.
  • Constructive channels for dialogue, feedback and community engagement.
  • Programmes supporting officer welfare, mental health, family wellbeing and professional development.
  • Research, policy conversations and public-interest advocacy for safer communities.
